Will that work on MDF ? Or on a door?
I have tried it on small pieces of MDF Andrew, and it worked. But I don’t know about a door. Give it a try and let me know. Thanks.
How do they latch (to stay closed)?
I use a magnetic latch at the top inside of the door Eric. I forgot to include that “little” detail in the video. The magnetic latch works great. Thanks for watching.
Good job wonderful video and explaining process.Have a wonderful day. That sure was beautiful helper you had .It seems like I am always doing something for my 2 daughters. Can you find those clamps ha
Thank you Ray ! Yes, she was a great helper. Thanks for watching.
Thank you!!! Just what I needed for an expensive piece of plywood I had. Much appreciated!!!
You’re welcome ! Glad the video helped you.
This is so helpful I have 0 knowledge of the things available to fix this situation for my panels and this was so awesome I bought the pieces and followed this step by step and was able to put them on 🥰
Excellent ! I’m glad the video helped you out. Thanks for watching.
Thank you!
My pleasure. Glad it helped you out.
where did you get the plans for this chest?
Hi BigJoe. I sort of got the ideas from here on UA-cam and then made some modifications. I’m planning to put the build video up here shortly. I hope that helps you. Thanks for watching.
I’m going to go try this, thanks for making the video! I have half a 5 gallon bucket of primer I was drying out to throw but might save it just for a weight now.
Perfect use of that primer Tony ! Good luck with your project. Thanks for watching.
I keep those buckets. They help in flat glueups where clamp pressure is impossible.
Hi, does Units use a cage inside the pod and then unloads just the cage inside a warehouse till you need your stuff ?
No they do not use a cage Claudio. You just put your stuff in the pod and then put your lock on the door. They pick it up, keeping it very level I might add, and then store the loaded pod at their warehouse. When you need it, they bring it to you for you for you to unload it. It worked out great for me. Hope that helps you.
@JayVisnansky Thanks for your reply. Moving is a challenge for sure.
@@claudiodominguez. It sure is. I had my stuff in storage for a year. Good luck to you.
Didn't have to cut the hose..it screws out.
Right ! Mine had a good amount of calcium built up around it and there was enough slack in the hose, so I just cut it off. Thanks for watching.
The hard part is getting the damn screw on tge other side out. But no body shows that...they just skip to it being off!!
Yea, that was a pain getting to that screw. I didn’t show it because I couldn’t get a good angle for the camera without my arm being in the way. Hope you got it off though.
hello sir Can you tell me the size of the Hessaire Hose Adapter copper? The size of the threaded interface with the float valve, thank you
hello, sir Can you tell me the size of the Hessaire Hose Adapter copper? The size of the threaded interface with the float valve, thank you
Excellent job there fella. I'm doing the same thing but wondered about what to use as a door 'catch'. That is to say, something to keep the doors from opening by themselves. Planned on using magnetic catches at the top. I didn't see what you used, did i miss it? As for the time capsule, I liked your items. As a kid I noticed the old timers who used pennies minted the year of install [usually under carpeting/linoleum] and / or along with sections of newspapers. Ads were great. I loved the old local telephone exchanges e.g. Melrose area was MEL-4738. The best were styles & cost of clothes. I'm renovating a duplex & now that I too am an old timer [74] I plan to add my own 'time capsule'.
Thank you J.Morrison ! It was a fun project to do. It all came together pretty quickly too. I used the magnetic catch for the door closer. I didn’t get that part on video. But that catch has worked out great. Yea, as a kid our phone exchange was Forest 4. Along with a party line. Thanks for watching and good luck on your project too !
@@JayVisnansky I'm old enough to have repaired party lines, ma bell retiree. I had a lot of fun watching new hires try to figure them out. Thanks
I like this idea. I guess I missed it. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for video I have bunch those clamps just sitting around
I could never find mine when I needed them. Now at least they’re in one place. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for this review Jay!
You are welcome Tomatoboy !
He is a very naughty man 😂
I wonder if you can use the wood hardener in a spray bottle.
I won’t think so chronobot. When you mix the powder with water you want the consistency to be like cake batter. That wouldn’t be able to work in a spray bottle. But heck, who knows, give it a try and let us know. Thanks for watching.
my pump AND fan don’t work. should i try to replace the water pump first? idk if thats gonna help the fan start or not. great vid
Thanks Zobe. How old is your unit ? That may dictate whether you should replace parts or buy a new one. The fan works independently of the water pump. Maybe the calcium build up around the fan is preventing the fan from working. Hope that helps a little.
@@JayVisnansky it’s just over a year old! got it last summer. it might be calcium buildup! any tips to clean that? toothbrush and water? thanks!
@@zobe5172 Vinegar does a great job dissolving calcium.
Hi Jay, Excellent video. Thank you. I am quite new to DIY, so may be a silly question but how are you meant to use the magnet for small bits?. I tried to figure out but cant. I feel the magnet should be designed for all the bits. Dont you agree?
Hi Hasnain. The magnet only works with the longer bits Hasnain. You have to push the longer bit thru the holder, the end opposite the magnet, and the bit protrudes only enough to grab the screw. The longer bits sticks out the other end enough for the drill to grab it. Hope this helps some.
@@JayVisnansky many thanks for your reply. Is there any magnetic attachment (by dewalt) that would hold small bits?
@@hasnaintejani9307 Not that I’m aware of Hasnain.
Thanks. I have a twisted ply and inset cabinet doors are not lining up. Any suggestions sir?
Did the same thi g my pump wony co e on
Make sure the connection on the water pump is clean and tightened.
Good to now others are using the same combination of products for a successful wood repair! Great job and video! Thank you!
Thanks Gregg ! And the porch columns still look good after all these years. Thanks for watching.
Looks beautiful. Lucky little boy.
Thank you Rosemary. I’ll be posting the finished chest soon. Thanks for watching.
Mr. Jay it looks awesome that’s pretty hilarious. It drives as fast as you pull it out of the can regardless I’m sure you’ll have it done before he’s 18. I love the jokes you do such nice work I was going to build one for my grandson as well. My daughter-in-law says she don’t know that I can build a box big enough to hold all the toys. Regardless, you have a happy Father’s Day!
Thank you Michael ! I finished it and my daughter-in-law said the same thing, it’s not big enough for all his stuff 😂 Heck, when I was growing up, I had two toys and I had to share them with my brothers 🤣 Nah, it’s all great. But I’m going to build them another and let them decide how big they want it. The box is done and I’m just waiting to get my grandson in the intro clip of the video before I post it. As always, thanks for watching.
@@JayVisnansky it’s always a pleasure watching
Like your sense of humor.
LOL ! Thanks.
Thanks for showing step by step. Think I over filled ..hope it's not the pump! Yet, if it is..seems easy to replace and not costly. Just bought evap cooler last yr so... Surprised I'm having problems already.
I wouldn’t think overfilling would cause the pump to go out Theresa. But it is easy to replace the pump. Good luck Theresa.
Anyone know how long a full tank of water will last in the 450 square foot cooling system?
I found my full tank only lasted about 1 to 1 1/2 hours Brenda. I was always checking it and adding more water before it got too low. Your time may vary from what I had. Just keep checking it. Hope that helps somewhat.
Thanks for the demonstration. I will try it on some lightly damaged wood.
You’re welcome Gilbert. It works and the holes I patched still look good.
Nice job Mr. Jay looks really nice. Great looking hinges as well! Look forward to the build!
Thanks Michael !
Thank you! This will help. I just cleaned out my cooler, and the pump is working but making a lot of noise. I'm confident now I can just replace the pump. Yay!
Great Vicky. It’s pretty straightforward once you open it up and see there’s not much to it ! Keep cool. Thanks for watching.
@@JayVisnansky Can you please provide part number for replacement pump?
@@ronlee2776 Ron, the part number for the pump is 6017050. Hessaire 1,300 CFM Cooler Pump.
@@JayVisnansky Thank you!
Great video. Very inspiring! What wood did you use for the jamb? Did you have to rip it to a custom width on a table saw?
Thanks ! I just used common pine, 2x4 or 1x4 that you can pick up at Home Depot. I did rip it to fit but you could use a circular saw to cut it. Or if you just need to cut it to length, a hand saw would work too. Hope that helps you a little. Thanks for watching.
Mr. Jay did it work out well any cracks after drying? As always thanks for sharing kind sir 😊
Hello Michael ! The Plastic Wood filler worked just fine. No cracks. And it is stainable. I used it on the toy chest I just finished and will upload soon. Thanks as always for watching Michael.
Getting ready to work on one for my son! Yours looks great ❤
Thanks Brooke ! I have it hanging in a prominent spot in my workshop. 😁 Good luck on your project too.
How do you unclip the clip from the old pump? The video didn't show that part. You just said it's easier to use a screwdriver to get it off.
Oh, ok. It’s the electrical connection you’re referring to Angela. That connection is much like an electrical plug in that it’s just friction that holds it on. And chances are, it has some calcium buildup that holds it on tight. So if it was new, you’d just pull it off. But it’s not, so I used a screwdriver at the connection and preyed it off. There’s nothing more holding it on than friction. So just prey it off. I sure hope that helps you Angela.
Very nice
Thanks. It was a fun project that made that flat door look a lot nicer.
Nice job!
Thanks Close Quarters ! It sure did help with the drainage issue around the pool.
Great ideas
Jay da Man !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 👍
LOL ! Thanks George.
Less than a year old, pump lasted 3 months for last summer. I properly cleaned & flushed the unit before putting into storage and everything worked properly then. Then this week, pulled it out to prep it for summer...and the pump doesn't work. Is this normal after only 3 months of use last summer?
I hope it’s not normal Silverman ! I haven’t started my unit back up for this summer yet but like yours, it worked ok when I last used it last summer. It’ll be interesting to see.
I have a table exactly like that I did not know that another one existed I’ve been wanting to strip it down perhaps and restain it it’s an excellent condition
Thanks Tom. Yes, it was too nice just to trash it. Thanks for watching.
I've been painting in Texas for over 50 years and I discovered that prepping the surface after cleaning of rot with wood glue let it dry. Then mix the Wood glue and Durham powder to make a putty mix to force it into the damaged areas by hand. Let that set up and Then come back with a smooth coat of Durham powder with a 6" Drywall knife. Block sand with long strokes sand the repair and the existing undamaged post overlapping as I sand. Prime, paint. VOILA WORKS EVERY TIME.
Great information DWB ! Thanks for sharing. And thanks for watching.
Nice job Mr. Jay I’ve been thinking of making something similar I actually have the same saw! But have put off doing it for some time! I remember when Izzy was selling them! Again looks great!
Thank you Michael ! Yes, I saw Izzy’s and several others so I thought I’d try my hand at one. It’s easy and straight forward to do. And I had all the material laying around ! Make one Michael ! Thanks for watching as always.
Great job I love it . I just bought some and im going use it on my shed doors to fill in the screw holes and stuff .
It works Jose ! Good luck on your project too. Thanks for watching.
I live in Arizona too and I had no idea I could be doing this. Thanks for the video!
You are welcome Mikaela. It sure did help to keep the garage a little cooler last summer. Thanks for watching.
Fantastic work 😊👊🏽
Thank you ! It did make the room look so much better. And an easy, fun project. Thanks for watching.
If you don’t want to buy the attachments you can just remove the hose tip they pull out pretty easy and the hose should fit right over the dust collector opening
Thanks Michael.
